Most women who have wavy hair wish it was straight and those with stick straight hair are dying to add some wave. Depending on your hair type this can be very easy or it could take some more work. If you're one of those who wish to add sexy waves to your straight hair follow these steps to do just that.Instructions
Wash your hair use shampoo and conditioner designed for creating and maintaining curls. Towel dry the hair thoroughly.
Divide hair into sections. Smaller sections will create smaller more defined waves while larger sections create waves that are bigger and looser.
Apply each section of hair with a styling product used to aide in creating a curl effect, or a mousse designed to add volume. Comb the product through each section thoroughly.
Twist each section of hair then twirl it around two fingers beginning at the ends and twirl up towards the roots. Set each section flat on the head and hold in place with a grip designed for waves, a hair pin or clip. Work from the back to the front and bottom to top of the head.
Dry hair overnight or use a hair dryer with a diffuser on a low-heat setting. When hair is completely dry, take the pins out and shake through the hair to separate each curl.
Separate curls with your fingers and flip head upside down for a fuller look. Apply a serum to add shine or to control frizz. You can also apply a light-hold hairspray.
Tips & Warnings
If you have some natural wave or curl to your hair this process is much easier. Simply use curl-enhancing products in addition to drying hair with a diffuser.
Alternatively you can use a large-barrel curling iron if you have less time. Begin at the end of each section and work your way up and from the back to the front.
You can also braid hair in smaller braids for tight waves or larger braids for to add soft wave and leave them overnight or dry with a hairdryer.
