How to Remove a Hydraulic Cylinder Shaft
Hydraulic cylinders can be designed for heavy duty cycles, or lots of use. They are also usually designed with maintenance in mind. Most cylinders can be disassembled and resealed when internal leakage reduces the cylinder's performance. Cylinder seal kits are available for most hydraulic cylinders, so that the entire cylinder can be resealed from the parts of a single kit. Accessing those seals is a matter of removing the cylinder from its work mounting, and removing the cylinder shaft, or rod from the body of the cylinder.
